Wednesday, September 11, 2024 marked an evening of drag racing that was brought possible through the sacrifice of individuals who fight for our freedom. It was a day of thoughts and prayers for those who gave of their lives that fateful day and to those who fight the every day battle with the after effects.
With all four competitive classes on the schedule, there were some repeat winners on the night. Quite a few racers showed up to run in the test and tune under the lights. There is only one more Wednesday night left on the season. Wednesday, September 18, there will be NO racing or test and tune as entries for the NHRA Northeast Bracket Finals will be coming into the track for next weekend's event. The final night of Wednesday Street Series and test and tune will be on September 25, so make plans to get there and get some passes.
In the Sportsman category, Joe Coss of Burlington, CT took another win in the 2024 season when he defeated Shane Shahinian of Ballston Lake, NY. Billy Kirpens, Jr. and James Ferrara of Gansevoort, NY finished their night in the semi-finals.
In Street Stick, Ed Wallace of Middletown, CT once again visited the winner's circle when he defeated Marc Faucher of Cheshire, MA in the final.
Pure Street Motorcycle saw Bob Bradley of Fort Edward, NY defeated Duke Huyck of Valatie, NY in the final round. Guy Gardner of Stuyvesant, NY finished his night in the semi-finals.
Rich Brown of East Hampton, MA defeated Andy Mayer of Pittsfield, MA in the final round of Street Trophy. Garry Daury of New Lebanon, NY finished his night in the semi-finals.
Hope to see everyone on Wednesday, September 25 for the last Wednesday night of racing.
