On Friday, June 28, 2024, the skies over Lebanon Valley Dragway were lit up with the Night of Fire. Spectators were treated to a night full of drag racing excitement from the drag cars that frequent the Valley on a weekly basis to the flame throwing jet cars and jet truck, wheelstander, nostalgia dragsters, nostalgia funny cars, top fuel Harley and record setting Evos.
There was competition in the bracket racing categories that are frequent to the Valley including races in Super Pro, Pro, Motorcycle/Sled, and Junior Dragster. There were some special classes in Super Stock/Stock and Top Dragster/Top Sportsman which are classes that will be racing over the fourth of July Weekend during the NHRA Division 1 Regional Event.
In Super Pro, Mike Fitts of Groton, CT took his '72 Plymouth Duster to the winner's circle when he defeated Wilbert Beach of Patterson, NY in his dragster. Matt Ticcony of Marlboro, NY finished his night in the semi-finals.
In Pro Eliminator, Fred "Fatsnake" Ebert of Saratoga, NY defeated Jeff Andrews of Pittsfield, NY in the final. Wayne Daury of New Lebanon, NY finished his night in the semi-finals.
In the Motorcycle/Sled ET class, Bob Bradley of Fort Edward, NY took his Kawasaki to the winner's circle when he defeated Larry Hoyt, Jr. of Saugerties, NY on his Suzuki. John Hastings of Poughkeepsie, NY and Louie Supczek of Ware, MA finished in the semi-finals.
Dayton Cocchiaro of Wallingford, CT took the win when defeated Zoey Thorpe of Hollowville, NY in the final of Junior Dragsters. Giuseppe Porfilio of East Longmeadow, MA and Michael Porfilio of East Longmeadow, NY finished in the semi-finals.
In the All Star Stock/Super Stock, Mark Dreimiller of Clifton Park, NY took the honors when he defeated Henry Specht of Newburgh, NY. Steve Rehm of Chicopee, MA and Mike Farrell of East Nassau, NY finished their night in the semi-finals.
Frank Volpe of Poughkeepsie, NY put his door car in the winner's circle when he defeated the dragster of B.J. Masiello in the final of Top Dragster/Top Sportsman. Kenny Moses and Dan Hill finished their night in the semi-finals.
