Who ever said that Sunday, September 8, 2024 was going to be a cold miserable day, was wrong. After a rain soaked Saturday night, the Lebanon Valley Dragway crew worked hard to dry the track and get it ready for Sunday's racing event sponsored by Brookside Equipment. Sunday's race also had special meaning. It was a memorial race in honor of Laurie Gagnon, a long time Lebanon Valley family member, who recently lost the battle to cancer. It was evident how many lives she touched.

It was also the NHRA King of the Track race where the winners of Super, Pro, Motorcycle/sled and Sportsman came together at the end of the day for a race off to see who would truly be the King of the Track.

In Super Eliminator, Alex Jamieson of Ashley Falls, MA took the win when he defeated Grant Nichols, Sr. of Marlborough, CT. Jeff Tisdale of Glastonbury, CT finished in the semi-finals.

In Pro Eliminator, Clint Walters of Poughkeepsie, NY defeated Bill Kirpens, Sr. of Pittsfield, MA in the final round. Brandon Karaguezien of Waltham, MA finished his day in the semi-finals.

In Motorcycle/Sled Eliminator, Floyd Appleby of Delmar, NY took the win over Adam Sheran of Blandford, MA. Frances Supczak of Ware, MA finished his day in the semi-finals.

In Junior Dragster, Mason Spinelli of Latham, NY took top honors when he defeated Zoey Thorpe of Hollowville, NY in the final round. Joey Foster of Cortlandt Manor, NY and Giuseppe Porfilio of East Longmeadow, MA finished their day in the semi-finals.

In Junior Street, Haley Powers of Hampden, MA defeated William Harper of Brimfield, MA in the final round. Gavin Russo of Norfolk, CT finished his day in the semi-finals.

In Open Trophy Paul Bogdan of Hopewell Junction, NY was the winner over Ed Cooper of Williamsburg, MA in the final. Keith Kruckas of Ware, MA finished his day in the semi-finals.

That leaves it up to the run off for the King of the Track. Bill Kirpens, Jr (Sportsman Representative) of Pittsfield, MA topped his day off with a win when he took on Alex Jamieson's dragster (Super Representative) from Ashley Falls, MA. Floyd Appleby (Motorcycle/Sled Representative) of Delmar, NY and Clint Walters (Pro Representative) of Poughkeepsie, NY finished the final race in the semi-finals.
