As we wind down the seaon of Wednesday night street test and tune and competition, the nights are open to some special races including the New York State Championship race which was held on September 6, 2023.
Father and son had the opportunity to duke it out in the final when Billy Kirpens Jr defeated his dad, Bill Kirpens Sr of Pittsfield, MA in the final round on a double breakout. Ken Boyer of Bondsville, MA, a regular in the street stick class held his own and lost in the semi-finals.
Vince Berzal of Saugerties, NY won the Street Stick class when he defeated Marc Faucher of Cheshire, MA.
Jim Hinman of Schenectady, NY defeated Greg Kloten of Wethersfield, CT in the final of the Street Trophy class. Dave Engstrand of New Milford, CT lost in the semi-finals.
There are three Wednesday nights left in the 2023 season. Next Wedesday will be the NHRA.TV challenge in the Sportsman division along with racing in Street Stick, Street Trophy and Pure Street Motorcycle. There will also be test and tune for those running vehicles with mufflers, slicks or street tires. Come on out before time runs out.
